Basil Elton first appeared in the story The White Ship (H.P. Lovecraft, 1919).
Basil Elton is the keeper of the North Point Lighthouse near Kingsport. He was one of the Dreamland's greatest travelers, until he lost his dream-self in the pursuit of lost Cathuria. He was also a friend of Randolph Carter.[2]
