Mythos

Cthulhu first appeared in the story The Call of Cthulhu (H.P. Lovecraft, 1926).

Cthulhu is a Great Old One resembling a bat-winged, clawed, octopus-headed humanoid. It sleeps in a deathlike trance beneath the Pacific Ocean, in the sunken city of R'Lyeh, but he will one day awaken to rule the world.[1]
